CITY TECH New Building Opening Celebration

In 2019, Chef Smith was commissioned by the chair of the hospitality department and the head of the baking and pastry chefs at City Tech, to create a showpiece for the opening celebration of the school's new building, located at the site of the old gym and auditorium.
The piece was to be presented as the centerpiece of the dessert table at the official ribbon cutting ceremony, to be held on Valentine's Day.
Chef Smith used the occasion as his inspiration, creating an abstract heart at the top, which represents a union, along with cupid's arrows and a flower.
To commemorate the school, he used the school colors in the spheres and recreated the school's shield monogram.
